What happens to a person in a car during a road traffic collision

A recent survey showed that as little as 12% of Ukrainians always buckle up in the back seat. Thanks to the collision simulators, presented as part of a joint campaign of the National Police and the EU Advisory Mission ‘Buckle Up — Don’t Get Terrified’ – you can feel what exactly happens to a person in a car during a road traffic incident.

The reasons to buckle up are rock-solid. Data from the World Health Organisation documents that seat belts reduce the risk of fatal injury by 75% for back seat occupants and by 50% for front seat occupants.

‘Buckle Up — Don’t Get Terrified’ campaign aims to raise awareness about the risk of injury and death caused by neglecting seat belt use, and to encourage Ukrainians to buckle up when riding in a car, even as back seat passengers.
