Modern threat assessment system will enhance fight against serious and organised crime in Ukraine

January 28, 2022

The EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine welcomes the recent decision of the Cabinet of Ministers to establish an inter-agency working group tasked to implement a modern threat assessment system for serious & organised crime (SOCTA) in line with international standards as used by EUROPOL, the European Union’s law enforcement agency.

Over time, this intelligence-led, analytical approach will enable a transparent, objective picture of serious and organised crime threats in Ukraine. This will allow an efficient direction of resources and the development of more effective policies to counter key criminal organisations in Ukraine. The National Police of Ukraine will coordinate efforts in this field. EUAM stands ready to provide further support to the Ukrainian people and its government in fighting serious and organised crime.
