Following Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, the European Council amended the EUAM‘s mandate. The Mission now provides support to its Ukrainian counterparts in the investigation and prosecution of International Crimes. Furthermore, the Mission continues to deliver on its tasks in the field of civilian security sector reform.
