Improving police response time fivefold. The joint project of European Union Advisory Mission and Lviv Regional Police

July 24, 2015

A joint project between the EUAM and Lviv Regional Police has been formally recognized by the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior as a success.

The project, based at Sambir police station, looked to introduce new forms and methods of work.

Joint experimentation has significantly improved Sambir Police’ response times. Now, it takes only four and a half minutes for response teams to arrive on a call. Sambir citizens have doubled their calls to the Emergency Response Unit: because they now have confidence that their police will actually assist.

The joint project between EUAM and Lviv Regional Police implements a system based on best European practice and the expectations of citizens to rebuild trust between police and the people.
