Artificial Intelligence in Communications: New Training by EUAM
September 22, 2024Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming a core tool for communication specialists. According to the State of AI Work 2024 report, AI is expected to automate up to 31% of knowledge workers’ tasks, which is especially relevant for the communications sector where AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney are already optimizing routine processes.
Recently, a two-day training organized by the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) was held in Odesa, involving 35 civil security communications professionals. These experts acquired practical AI skills, including automating text analysis, generating visual materials, and compiling analytical reports.
One participant from the State Border Guard Service shared: “Before this training, I hadn’t used AI tools in my work. Now I am confident that AI will become a reliable assistant in my tasks.”
AI: Revolutionizing Communications Tasks
Modern AI tools such as ChatGPT are already actively helping communication professionals to generate ideas, edit texts, and create multimedia content. These technologies enable faster response times, allowing specialists to quickly prepare high-quality press releases and adapt content for various target audiences.
Yevheniia Korotka, a strategic communications expert at EUAM, commented: “AI enables communicators to spend more time on strategic tasks while automating routine work. For example, generative algorithms can help analyse the information space, identify threats, and counter disinformation.”
Ethics and Security in AI Use
When working with AI tools, it is crucial to consider ethical aspects to avoid spreading disinformation and to protect personal data. AI technologies also support the monitoring of social networks, helping detect harmful campaigns or negative trends, which is essential for ensuring security, particularly in public institutions.
Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally transforming the role of communication specialists, making it more tech-driven. Mastering these tools is becoming essential to increase the effectiveness of work in the media and communications field. The EUAM aims to help civil security communications professionals in Ukraine stay at the forefront of modern industry trends.
