Modern IT Equipment Brings New Training Opportunities for Ukrainian Customs
December 16, 2025
Today, the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine has handed over new IT equipment to the State Customs Service of Ukraine (SCS) to support advanced training at the Khmelnytskyi Training Centre. The equipment will be used for 3D online learning programmes, helping customs officers build practical skills in a fast-changing operational environment.
The equipment was handed over by Juergen Illig, Head of EUAM’s Integrated Border Management (IBM) Unit, and Oleksandra Hryshko, EUAM’s Customs Services/IBM Officer. The State Customs Service was represented by Deputy Head Oleh Nikolaichuk, together with heads of the International and IT Departments.
Alongside the transfer of equipment, the sides discussed next steps in EUAM–SCS cooperation and reviewed priority IT needs within the customs service. The talks focused on improving training systems and supporting the wider digital transformation of customs operations.

“This equipment marks a milestone in our joint efforts to modernize customs training,” said Juergen Illig. “We’re committed to supporting Ukraine’s customs professionals in their important work focusing on digitalization, transparency and accountability”.
The donation reflects the European Union’s continued support for strengthening Ukraine’s institutions and aligning them with European standards.
