Head of Mission of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine, Rolf Holmboe, concluded a two-day visit to Warsaw last week, where he met with senior officials from the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Police, and Border Guards.

The discussions underlined the shared commitment to the reform of Ukraine’s civilian security sector in line with European standards as part of Ukraine’s EU accession process. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss cooperation and support for the investigation and prosecution of international crimes, integrated border management, and the shared challenge of countering escalating hybrid warfare.

“I greatly appreciate the constructive discussions with our Polish partners. Their experience and continued engagement are invaluable in supporting Ukraine’s institutions and in promoting justice, stability, and security,” said EUAM Head of Mission Rolf Holmboe.

Rolf Holmboe also had the opportunity to meet with Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency. “Our cooperation with Frontex is both strategic and practical. By combining EUAM’s in-country engagement with Frontex’s operational expertise, we are helping Ukraine move closer to European standards in border management while ensuring security and trust at its frontiers,” Holmboe underlined.

EUAM remains committed to working hand in hand with EU Member States and European institutions to provide the best possible support to Ukraine’s civilian security sector in meeting its massive wartime challenges and on its reform path towards EU accession.
