Training on Security Sector Reform for EUAM

June 26, 2015

Kyiv, 2015. Between 23rd and 26th June key staff members from the EU Advisory Mission to Ukraine received bespoke training on Security Sector Reform (SSR). The training was delivered in Kyiv by the Folke Bernadotte Academy from Sweden who are one of the leading international organisations with specific expertise in this area.

The course comprised both a theoretical and practical approach with healthy discussions and group work to embed the learning on SSR.

The EUAMs key purpose is to provide strategic advice regarding civilian SSR across a range of key law enforcement and justice institutions and agencies in Ukraine.

A total of 40 EUAM staff attended the training and will now directly benefit from the learning received, which can now be incorporated into their daily work, advising at the strategic level, to nurture sustainable reforms which are owned and lead by Ukrainian counterparts.
