EUAM and EU Delegation visited Procecutors Office

The Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Ambassador Jan Tombinski, accompanied by the Head of the EU Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform, Kalman Mizsei, met today with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Viktor Shokin, as well as Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaly Kasko and Deputy Prosecutor General David Sakvarelidze.

The meeting focused on the discussion of existing mechanisms of EU-Ukraine cooperation in the context of the reform of the General Prosecutors Office and other essential rule of law institutions. The parties touched upon the ongoing reform processes and the preparations for the entry into force of the remaining provisions of the Law on the General Prosecutors Office on 15 July. The other issue discussed at this meeting was the setup of the Specialised Prosecutor on Anti-Corruption. The EU side encouraged Ukrainian counterparts to make active use of the technical expertise offered by the EU, including the EU Advisory Mission, the EU Support Group and the EU Justice Reform Project.
